On May 27-30, the 15th International Congress on Hydroinformatics (HIC2024) was held in Beijing. The conference was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Water Resources, the International Society of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering and the International Water Association, led by the Chinese Academy of Water Sciences, and co-organized by BGT Hydromet and other units. Nearly 500 representatives from government departments, universities, scientific research institutions, international organizations and water-related enterprises from 34 countries and regions attended the conference to discuss the innovative application of new generation information technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing in water resources management.
The theme of the conference is "From Nature to Digital Water Conservancy: Challenges and opportunities", focusing on the use of modern information technology to build a digital twin water conservancy system with "four pre-pre-functions", enabling water conservancy business management, and developing new quality productivity of water conservancy. Guoxin Huayuan actively responded to the theme of the conference. During the seminar, the representative of the company delivered a special report entitled "Thoughts triggered by an extreme rainstorm", sharing the successful practical application of new technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and digital twins in flood control and disaster reduction, watershed water resources management and other fields, which triggered extensive attention and discussion from the delegates.
As a co-organizer, BGT Hydromet fully demonstrated its profound accumulation and innovation ability in the field of "smart water conservancy", and brought several cutting-edge technologies and applications in the fields of small watershed mountain flood disaster monitoring and early warning capability improvement program, small reservoir rain water monitoring and dam safety monitoring program, smart irrigation district, and smart hydrology to the technology exhibition area. The site attracted many leaders, experts and scholars to visit the booth for exchange and consultation.
