Optical Rain Gauge Sensor

Optical rain sensors use infrared rays to sense the impact of water on their outer surfaces. It uses the same sensing principle as millions of car rain-sensing windshield wiper controls.
The sensor is optical - not mechanical, chemical or conductive. Therefore, it is more robust, sensitive and reliable than any other technology. The sensor is very sensitive and is almost not affected by incorrect tripping. Furthermore, it is completely unaffected by pushing and moving. There is no exposed conductor corrosion and no opening for insects to crawl in. Moreover, there is no place to collect leaves or other sundries.
